Italian Beef Sandwiches

Y’all may think I’m crazy for trying these TikTok recipes, but they’re amazing! And they don’t require that I watch a 30 minute video…I get to see a recipe in like 1 minute…I love it! These sandwiches are FANTASTIC. The giardiniera really sets them off and you can control the spiciness of this dish by getting hot, medium or mild in the giardiniera. This is a great dish to serve for a large crowd!

Italian Beef Sandwiches

A flavorful, beefy sandwich that will feed a big group of people!

Ingredients

  • 1 4-5 lb. chuck roast
  • 1 16-ounce jar chopped giardiniera
  • 1 16-ounce sliced pepperoncini
  • 1 packet Good Seasons Italian dressing mix
  • 1 12-ounce Budweiser beer
  • 1/2 lb. deli-sliced provolone cheese
  • 12 steak/hoagie rolls sliced 3/4 of the way across the middle
  • 20 ounces beef stock
  • Hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. On medium-high, sear the chuck roast on each side for two minutes, leaving bits of meat in pan for deglazing.
  2. Place chuck roast in slow cooker.
  3. Pour 1/2 cup of the beef stock in pan to deglaze, gently scraping up beef bits. Let stock reduce to 1/4 cup of liquid.
  4. Pour deglazed liquid over meat.
  5. Sprinkle Italian seasoning mix across the roast.
  6. Pour the giardiniera on top, including all juices.
  7. Pour pepperoncini on top, including all juices.
  8. Pour remaining beef stock into slow cooker.
  9. Pour beer into slow cooker.
  10. Cook on low for 8-9 hours.
  11. Once meat is finished cooking, shred in juices and let sit for 10+ minutes.
  12. Open roll so that both sides are flat. Spread Italian beef across both sides of roll. Place a slice of provolone on top. The cheese will melt. Serve with au jus, if desired.
