Blue Heeler
They serve these at the dog bar. Yep…dog bar. Now, if you’ve known me very long, you probably think I don’t like children or animals. That is true. I like some children. And now I do, in fact, somehow, like dogs. So yeah, now I play trivia on Monday nights at K9 Dog Bar. It’s awesome.

Fresh Squeezed Margarita
By FAR my favorite drink. I remember trying my mom’s Margaritas from La Bola in Denver and thinking it was the most disgusting thing ever. But then I grew up and discovered good tequila and margaritas made with orange liqueur. Pure heaven.

Fresh Squeezed Margarita
Ingredients
- 1 ounces silver tequila (Patron, Herradura)
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur (Patron Citronge, Grand Marnier, Cointreau)
- 1 ounce freshly-squeezed lime juice
- 1 ounce Agave nectar or simple syrup
- Ice
- Lime wedge and coarse salt for rimming the glass (optional)
Instructions
- Run the juicy part of a lime wedge around the top rim of your serving glass. Fill a shallow bowl or plate with salt, then dip the rim until it is covered with the desired amount of salt. Set it aside.
- Add the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, sweetener, and a few ice cubes to a cocktail shaker. Shake or stir for about 10 seconds, until combined.
- Fill glass with ice and strain in the margarita mix.
- Garnish with lime slice.

Mollys Gingers Hotter
This drink recipe was reverse engineered by my sister Molly, based on a drink served at Lot 2 in Brooklyn, NY called Gingers Hotter. Soooo good. Also…I just found out I can make my own candied fruit. I’ll be trying that soon.

- 1 part Amaretto
- 1 part Ginger Lime Syrup
- Candied ginger
- 1 part Simple Syrup
- 1 part fresh lime juice
- 1 part ginger juice
Instructions
- Mix all drink ingredients together. Garnish with candied ginger

Mom’s Pisco Sour
My mom, Susan, spent a decade splitting her time between Denver and Lima, Peru. She RAVED about pisco sours. When I finally tried one, I loved it so much that I insisted on serving them at our wedding. I spent countless hours with bags of limes and an electric juicer. (My motto: I’m not paying for that…I can do it myself!) They were a hit. But fun fact: if you get lime juice on your skin and then go out into the sun…you will get what looks like age spots. Which, you know…is super fun and not at all alarming right before your wedding…

Mom’s Pisco Sour
Ingredients
- 2 cups Pisco
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
- 1 egg white
- 25-30 ice cubes
Instructions
- Blend the Pisco, sugar, lime juice and ice cubes for 2 minutes.
- Add egg white and blend again to make frothy.
- Serve immediately.
